The Harmony Story - Rich Vesta [CEO]

Over the last 40 years I have had the opportunity to be engaged in many aspects of the beef supply chain, from an early career in retail meat departments to managing some of North America’s largest meat processors. Each of these roles has provided me with a perspective on product quality, management and the importance of partnerships between customers and suppliers. The intent with the creation of Harmony Beef was to build on these key learnings and combine them with a focus to establish an organization truly dedicated to producing exceptional beef products.

Our organization’s goals are ambitious and one of the first steps in the journey was the development of the Harmony Beef processing facility. We have taken the time and made the investment to ensure that the plant is engineered to the same high standards as the beef products it will produce. This includes unique and innovative approaches to harvest and fabrication, food safety, animal welfare and sustainability.

In parallel with the development of the plant, I have also had the opportunity to assemble the management team. These are individuals who I have selected for their experience and also their shared commitment to the standards and values that Harmony Beef represents. Rich began his career in retail meat operations and over the next 40 years had the opportunity to manage some of North America’s largest meat processors.

Harmony Beef was born out of decades of industry experience and a desire to create the most innovative and state-of-the-art harvest, processing and fabrication facility in the industry. While the Harmony Beef name may be new, our mission is time-tested and eternal: create extraordinary beef products.

Harmony Beef’s leadership team has extensive experience in the industry, from managing retail counters to leading and managing the largest processing plants in North America.

In early 2017, Harmony Beef achieved its first landmark – the debut of its state-of-the-art harvest and fabrication facility in the heart of the province of Alberta, Canada.
